Been busy at the home/shop, gotta get the heads off the ST and sent off for new valves and seats and need to purloin a transmission to serve as victim at next weekend’s Airhead Tranny Tech Weekend. Took the ‘hack off, need to fix a stress crack on it anyway. Then spent all this morning persuading the exhaust pipes out of their little homes in the heads… The whole system is rusted together and costs a fortune to replace, so it seems I always end up prying it off whole. It wasn’t purty… But it’s off.

On to the easy work of simply unbolting the heads, but it’s pledge week on public TV. So I’ve adopted a “pacing” strategy- settle back on the couch and enjoy the great programing, then when the “begging” starts work on the bike until that misery is over. Should be interesting to see how it works tonight…
